Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand the structure of the atom, the types of chemical bonds, the nomenclature of chemical compounds, the properties of molecular and ionic compounds, the properties of acids and bases, acid-base equilibria, the concept of solution, solution concentration, pH, reaction stoichiometry, redox reactions, chemical equilibrium and, in general, the chemistry of elemental compounds of agricultural interest.
